Film dressings should be removed after 3-12 hours and require daily washing and cream application. Second Skin dressings can be left on for up to 5 days, providing longer protection and reducing the need for daily care. However, both methods require thorough washing and moisturizing after removal. I wrap your new tattoo in Second Skin whenever possible as it provides excellent protection and healing. However, there are certain areas, such as elbows, knees and armpits, where Second Skin is not practical because it can fall off quickly. For very large tattoos, such as on the back, it's also best to use film to ensure the protection stays in place properly. Read much more about aftercare here.
